Last rites held Saturday at the General Baptist Church in Brownwood, for Sam F. Caby, 70 year old farmer of near Brownwood, who was killed instantly in a car accident near Advance Wednesday, during the snow storm. Rev. Lester Dale conducted services and burials was in Mt. Zion cemetery near Scopus, with Morgan Funeral home of Advance in charge. Mr. Caby, his wife and their daughter, Mrs. Inez McMillin, all of Brownwood enroute home from Cape Girardeau when their pickup truck collided with a truck driven by Dan Lynch of Advance. A heavy snow was falling at the time of the accident and it is thought that the drivers may have been blinded by it. Mr. Lynch was not injured. Mrs. Caby, 64, and Mrs. McMillin were thrown clear of the truck and suffered numerous injuries. They were taken to St. Francis hospital in Cape Girardeau and are still at the hospital. Mr. Caby was born December 27, 1886 near Scopus and spent his early life there. He spent practically all his life in this county where he farmed. He had resided in the Brownwood community for the past 15 years. Mr. Caby is survived by three other daughters. Mrs. Wilma Sims of Indianapolis, Ind., Mrs Cleo Daughtery of Crystal City and Mrs. Elfrieda Angle Of Cape Girardeau: a son. Leon Caby of St. Louis: two half-brothers, H.E. Caby of Herculaneum and Theodore Conder of Jackson; three sisters, Mrs. Louis A.
