Amalric II Lusignan of was born about 1145 in La Marche,Poictou,France.  Amalric II Lusignan of's father was Hugh VIII "Le Brun" Sire De Lusignan and his mother was Bourgogne De Rancon.  His paternal grandparents were Hugh "The Devil" De Lusignan (Sire) and Sarazine Of Armenia; his maternal grandparents were Seigneur Geoffroy I De Rancon and Fossifia de Moncontour. He had six brothers named Geoffrey De, Hugh IX De, Raoul De, Guy De, Pierre De and Guillaume De.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.  He died on April 1st, 1205 in poisoned.  He was buried in St Sophia,Nicosia,Cyprus.1
