Gilbert Duke of was born about 0890 in Reims,Marne,France.1   Gilbert Duke of's father was Rainer (Reignier) DukeI of Lorraine and his mother was Hersent Ermentrude of FRANCE.  His paternal grandparents were Giselbert Gilbert Darnau Brabant and Ermengarde Duchess of Moselle; his maternal grandparents were Charles II "The Bald" King of France and Ermentrude Queen of Franks. He had a brother named Giselbert of. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Rainer II Count of, Hnabi Nebi "Dux" and Simphoriane D'.  He died in ,Andernach,Rhineland,Prussia.2
