Gilbert Giffard

Gilbert was born about 1136.¹ Gilbert's father was Elias II Giffard and his mother was Berta FitzPons de Clifford. His paternal grandparents were Elias I Giffard and Ala; his maternal grandparents were Richard , Lord of Cantref Bychan FitzPons and Maud de Pitres of Gloucester. He had four brothers and a sister, named Walter, Richard, Elias (Helias) Giffard III, William and Berta. He had a half-sister named Matilda.
