Eleanor le was born about 1240 in .,Ryhall,Rutlandshire,England.  Eleanor le's father was Hugh le Despenser Knight and her mother was Aline Basset Countess of Norfolk.  Her paternal grandfather was Hugh I le de Spenser; her maternal grandparents were Philip Basset Sir and Hawise de Lovain. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Philip le, Hugh III, Anne and Joan le.  She was the oldest of the five children.  She died on September 30th, 1328 in .,London,Middlesex,England.  She was buried on October 1st, 1328 in .,Cowick,Devonshire,England.
