Hugh I was born in 0975 in Normandy France. Hugh I's father was Thurston or Hugh II De Montfort and his mother was Juliane De Murdac. His paternal grandparents were Anslec De Bertrand and Countess of Beulac Helloe; his maternal grandfather was Geoffrey Murdac. He had two sisters named Adeline and Gisele.
