Luitgard's father was FRIEDRICH I COUNT von ZOLLERN and her mother was UDAHILD COUNTESS d'URACH. Her paternal grandfather was BURKHARD I COUNT von ZOLLERN; her maternal grandparents were EGON II COUNT d'URACH and GUNIGUNDE d'URACH. She had six brothers and a sister, named Adalbert, Egino, Gottfried, Ulrich, BURKHARD II COUNT, Frederick II and HEMMA.
