Alexander de was born about 1400 in Cotton, Suffolkshire, England.¹ Alexander de's father was MICHAEL de la POLE and his mother was CATHERINE de STAFFORD. His paternal grandparents were MICHAEL EARL de SUFFOLK de la POLE and KATHERINE WINGFIELD; his maternal grandparents were Earl, Lord) de STAFFORD (Sir HUGH and PHILIPPA de BEAUCHAMP.
