‌John, Sr. and Ruth were married in a religious ceremony on August 16th, 1813 in Grainger, TN.¹   They had six sons and four daughters, named Acquilla Blakley, James G., John B., Jr., Wiley, Jasper, Reuben Chapman, Unknown, Unknown, Margaret and Artemissa.
