Acquilla Blakley was born in 1815 in AL.1 Acquilla Blakley's father was John, Sr. Anderton and his mother was Ruth Blakley. His paternal grandparents were James Anderton and Peggy Morris; his maternal grandparents were Aquila Blakley and Miss Unknown. He had five brothers and four sisters, named James G., John B., Jr., Wiley, Jasper, Reuben Chapman, Unknown, Unknown, Margaret and Artemissa. He had a half-brother named John. Acquilla was named after a Biblical Christian - Aquila (his wife was
Priscilla). Paul founded the Church at Corinth on his second missionary
journey and, while there, stayed with Aquila and Priscilla, who had come
from Rome. Acquilla's middle name is his Mother's maiden name Blakley.
