Mary was born in 1429 in Perth, Perthshire, Scotland.1   Mary's father was James I King de SCOTLAND and her mother was Joan de BEAUFORT.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert III King de SCOTLAND and Annabella DRUMMOND; her maternal grandparents were JOHN 1st DUKE de SOMERSET de BEAUFORT and MARGARET (Duchess) de HOLLAND. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Alexander, James II, Margaret, Isabella (Elizabeth), Joan (Janet), Annabella and Eleanor.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children. She had three half-brothers named John Earl de Atholl, James "Hearty James" and Andrew Bishop de Moray.  She died in Sandenbruch Castle, Netherlands.1
