THE CHRONICLE
Local and Personal
"S. B. Waldrip (Uncle Bird) and his wife, former residents of this
county, now residing at Speigner in Elmore county, are both critically
ill. It is doubtful wheather Mrs. Waldrip will recover. The latest news
is that Uncle Bird is some better."(1)
Local and Personal
"Bird Waldrip, who has been visiting his brother, A. M. Waldrip, of Sears
Chapel, and other relatives in this county for about ten days, returned
to his home near Speigner last Friday. Mr. Waldrip was, for many years,
an esteemed resident of this county, and his visits are always occasions
of pleasure to his many friends."(2)
Local and Personal
" ‘Uncle Bird’ Waldrip, brother of our A. M. Waldrip, and old Cossian but
now living near Deatsville, Ala., and Mrs. Geo. Nixon, of the same
community, visited the families of John K. McEwen and A. M. Waldrip
recently. ‘Uncle Bird’ is an old time honest citizen, and we regret that
we did not get to see him. We should try to be with those old people -
they will not be with us long." (3)
