Gloomer was born on May 1st, 1906 in TN.1 Gloomer's father was Fonza Towry and his mother was Hattie Pricilla Ledbetter. His maternal grandparents were Reuben Bonburant Ledbetter and Martha P. Freeman. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Reuben Leonard, Taylor Rice, Mattie Lou Cindy and Nannie Eddie Bell. He was the youngest of the five children. He died at the age of 43 on December 28th, 1949 in Madison Co., AL. He was buried in Stateline Cemetery, Madison Co., AL.1 1 General Notes
