Martha Elizabeth was born on March 20th, 1896 in Sumter, Sumter Co., SC.1 Martha Elizabeth's father was John James Spradley and her mother was Martha J. Dean. Her paternal grandparents were George David Spradley and Eliza F. Davis. She had a brother and four sisters, named Arthur Francis, Mamie Bell, Minnie, Emmie and Grace. She was the second oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 60 on May 8th, 1956 in Lydia, Darlington Co., SC. She was buried in Mt.
