I have an Elijah Smith md. Nancy Cornett listed in the 1840 Coosa Co. Al
Census records. Elijah was deceased prior to the 1850 Census, and Nancy
Smith was head-of-household with children: William Smith 22, James Smith
18 who married Mahala Catherine Pody, Mary Jane Smith 15 who married
James Kilpatrick, Elijah Smith, Jr. 11, believed to have married a Nancy
E. Kelley, Newton Smith 6, believed to have married Cynthia Yarbrough,
and Benjamin Smith 9, We know that Nancy Cornett Smith married Aberham
Atchley ca 1850 in Coosa Co. Al. I am searching for Elijah Smith's
parents. His father might have been Patrick Smith, or he could have been
a close relative of Patrick Smith, Guy Smith, and John Smith who were
enumerated in the 1840 Coosa Al. Census. Any information on Elijah
Smith's parents and siblings would be appreciated. I noticed your post
for an Elijah Smith in Perry Co. Al.
James and Mahala Catherine were married in a religious ceremony on December 8th, 1852 in Coosa Co., AL.1 They had a daughter named Nancy Elizabeth.
