Egbert was born on January 6th, 1888 in Saddlesworth, Yorkshire, England.1 Egbert's father was Thomas George Sainsbury and his mother was Mary Barrett. His paternal grandparents were Edgar SAINSBURY and Emily BEACHAM; his maternal grandparents were WILLIAM BARRETT and Phoebe Colbourne. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William Edwin, George Thomas, Walter, Ben, Wilford Wallace, Emily, Lavina and Edith. He was the third youngest of the nine children.
