Charles John Phinney 
Charles John was born on December 24th, 1856 in Irvington, New York.1 Charles John's father was Henry Frederick, Sr. Phinney and his mother was Caroline Martha Fenimore Cooper. His maternal grandparents were James- Fenimore, Author Cooper and Susan Augusta Delancey. He had two brothers and a sister, named Henry Frederick, Jr., Frederick Noyes and Susan Cooper. He was the youngest of the four children.-
