William Petty

William was born in 1736 in Orange Co., North Carolina. William's father was William Petty and his mother was Elizabeth Merriman. His paternal grandparents were Thomas* Petty and Catherine* Garton. He had three brothers and a sister, named Theophilus, Hubbard, John and Rebecca. He was the second oldest of the five children.
