Julius Charles was born on July 20th, 1912 in AL.1 Julius Charles' father was Houston Massey and his mother was Dassie Baxley. His paternal grandparents were Alfred D. Massey and Amanda M. C. Sharbutt. He had four brothers named Arron L., H. M., J. S. and Roddie L.. He died at the age of 41 on August 11th, 1953 in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., AL. "Julius Charles Massey, age 41, died at a Birmingham hospital Tuesday
afternoon at 5 o'clock, Services were to be held at Liberty Hill church
this afternoon, Thursday, at 2 o'clock. Rev. Homer Carroll conducting;
Brown Services of Birmingham in charge of arrangements. Surviving is the
wife, Mrs. Jewell Massey; one daughter, Mrs. W. C. Dixon, of Birmingham;
five brothers -- Aaron and H. M. Massey, both of Olando, Fla., J. S. of
Birmingham, D. L. of Calera, and Major R. L. Massey of Perrin Air Force
Base, Texas; one sister, Mrs. J. B. Clelland, of Birmingham. J. C. Massey
was a son of the late Houston Massey and Dassie Baxley Massey, both
buried at Liberty Hill. The deceased formerly resided in Clanton, as
well as did Mrs. Massey. They moved away from here some ten years ago."
