James Manuel Logan 
James Manuel was born on February 6th, 1844 in Coosa Co., AL.1 James Manuel's father was John Logan and his mother was Margaret A. Davidson. His paternal grandparents were James Ellis M. Logan and Mary (?); his maternal grandparents were Issac Davidson and Edith Jane Kuykendall. He had five brothers and a sister, named John Robert, Isaac Davidson, George Washington, Henry Clay, Napolean Bonoparte and Caroline Jane. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 88 on August 26th, 1932 in Batesville, AR.1 General Notes

Company G, 2d Regiment of Alabama Cavalry. At age 18 he enlisted March
26, 1862 in Coosa County, Alabama by William P.Ashley. Supplied his own
horse at a value of $200. Captured and Paroled at Headquarters,
Sixteenth Army Corps, Montgomery, Alabama, May 24, 1865. From Confederate
Military Records on microfilm located in Alabama Archives, Montgomery, AL.
James M. Logan and Emily L. Locke were in Stone Co., Ark by 1880; along
with Margaret Logan and rest of family in Wallace Township, which borders
Independence Co., Ark...where Batesville is located. The children listed
at that time were: Lilly 9 Ala.; Elizabeth 7 Ark.; Ella 5 Ark; John H. 3
Ark; and Jinnet (Janet?) b: Jan 1880 Ark.
