Willie May was born on June 23rd, 1883 in Paint Rock, Marshall Co., AL.1 Willie May's father was Edward Douglas Ledbetter and her mother was Nancy Jane Walker. Her paternal grandparents were Solomon Smith Ledbetter and Elizabeth W. Douglas; her maternal grandparents were Joseph M. Walker and Mary Elizabeth Sibley. She had four brothers and five sisters, named James M., Oscar Smith, Edward Gordon, John Emmett, Minnie W., Mary Elizabeth, Laura F., Lucy Kate and Anna Belle. She was the fifth youngest of the ten children. She died at the age of 54 on December 9th, 1937 in Marshall Co., AL. She was buried in Walker Baptist Church Cemetery, Marshall Co., AL.1 1 -
