His paternal grandparents were Daniel A. Ledbetter and Harriett Buford; his maternal grandparents were Riley Reeds Kirkland and Rebecca Birdwell. He had seven brothers and four sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named R. D., William Houston, Arthur W., J. Thomas, Lee, Bryan Watson, Riley, Nancy Francis Ellen, Harriet Rebecca, Betty Gertha Lee, Mary Rose and S. A.. He was the sixth youngest of the thirteen children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Daniel Hopson, John Wilson and Jimmie Ruth M.. He died about 1935 in AL.1 -
