Jacob Garn 
Jacob was born in 1836 in Union Township, Bedford Co., Pennsylvania.1 Jacob's father was Christopher (Christian) GARN and his mother was Elizabeth Ickes. His paternal grandparents were FREDERICK GARN and FANNY MOCK; his maternal grandparents were Henry Ickes and Catherine Hinish. He had four brothers and six sisters, named John Ickes, George Ickes, Daniel Ickes, William, Catherine, Susanna, Margaret Ickes, Rachel, Hannah and Elizabeth. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children.-
