Roland was born about 1898 in Haywood Co., TN.1 Roland's father was James E. Castellaw and his mother was Nannie M. King. His paternal grandparents were John Edward Castellaw and Mattie A. E. Coleman; his maternal grandparents were A. W. King and Mollie L. (?). He had three brothers and a sister, named Eura E., Paul L., Ira and Hellen M.. He was the oldest of the five children. He died before 1920 in TM.1 -
