[coosa1.ged] Jan: Your messge captioned as above is interesting - my Grandfather Wiley W. Anderton (b. 1863 either Tullahoma, TN or Marshall Co. Ala, died 1905 in Oklahoma in RR accident)-his wife (my Grandmother) was Betty Freeman Anderton, (b. 1859 either TN or Ala. died in childbirth 1905, TN). I have just started doing research on them, as can not locate any records, census, etc. concerning them. My Grandfather's father may have been a Wiley W. Anderton, Sr., (b. 1839 in Ala., died 1863 in Civil War) - his wife was shown as Rebecca (last name unknown). Our old Anderton family bible was been lost for generations, possibly in house fire but my late Father told me my Grandmother Betty Freeman Anderton was part French/Scotch/Irish. Other relatives have told me that they have heard that she was part Cherokee Indian. Just wonder if this is the same Rebecca Anderton that you mention in your message? This may be a different Anderton family, since you mention one George Anderton. Thanks. James Anderton.
