Miles I de Stapleton , 1st Lord Stapleton 
Miles I was born about 1208. Miles I's father was John De Stapleton and his mother was Catherine Hansard. His paternal grandparents were Sir Brian De Stapleton and Daughter FitzHenry; his maternal grandfather was Sir Miles Hansard. He had a sister named Elizabeth. He was the older of the two children. Sir Miles Stapleton, Knt., who, having distinguished himself, temp. Edward I and II, in the wars of Gascony and Scotland in the retinue of Edward, Prince of Wales, was summoned to parliament as a Baron 8 January, 23 May, and 26 July, 1313. Nicholas was born in 1230 in Stapleton, Yorkshire, England. He died at the age of 84 on June 24th, 1314 in Battle of Bannockburn, Stirlingshire, Scotland.
