Robert was born in 1086 in Caen, Calvados, Normandie.  Robert's father was King Henry I Beauclerc of England and his mother was Princess/of Deheubarth Nesta ferch Rhiwallon of Deheubarth. He had a brother named Henry. He had fifteen half-brothers and twenty-two half-sisters, named Robert, William, William, Rainald, Gilbert, William, Richard, Robert, Henry, Robert, Robert, Gilbert, Richard, Fulk, Richard, Sibyl Elizabeth, Gundred, Rohese, Matilda (Maud), Eustacie, Alice, Daughter, Elizabeth, Matilda, Euphamia, Isabel, Isabel, Maud, Princess, Maud, Emma, Maud, Juliane, Constance, Juliane, Mathilde and Alix.  He died at the age of 61 on October 31st, 1147 in Bristol, Gloucestershire, England.  He was buried in Priory of St. James, Bristol, Gloucester, England.
