Beatrice de was born about 1185 in Thurnham, Hollingbourn, Kent, England.  Beatrice de's father was Stephen de Turnham , of Artington & Berwick and her mother was Edeline de Broc , Heiress of Artington.  Her paternal grandfather was Robert de Turnham; her maternal grandparents were Randolph de Broc , of Angmering & Artington and Damietta de Gorram. She had two sisters named Clemence de and Eleanor de.  She was the second oldest of the three children.  She died before December 1245.
