Beatrice of was born about 1015 in Susa, Turin, Italy.  Beatrice of's father was Ulric Manfredo II Count of Susa Marquis of Turin and her mother was Berthe of Este.  Her paternal grandparents were Manfred I Count of Susa & Turin and Prangorda Di Reggio; her maternal grandparents were Oberto II Count of Genoa & Tortone & Este and Railende of Como. She had four sisters named Adelaide of, Ermengarde of, Bertha of and Imilia of.  She was the second oldest of the five children.
