William IV Count of was born about 1040 in Huesca, Spain.  William IV Count of's father was Pons III Count of Toulouse and his mother was Almonde (Almodis) de la Marche.  His paternal grandparents were William III Taillefer Count of Toulouse and Emma Venaissin de Provence; his maternal grandparents were Bernard I Comte de la Marche and Amelie d' Aulnay. He had a brother and two sisters, named Raymond VI Count of, Almode of and Garsinde de.  He was the oldest of the four children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Hugh VI "Le Diable" Sire de, Berenguer Ramon II "Fratricide" Count, Ramon Berenguer II Count of and Agnes of.  He died in 1093 in Holy Land, Palestine.
