Maude de was born in 1155 in Isleworth, Middlesex, England.  Maude de's father was Bernard IV de St. Valery and her mother was Eleanor de Domnart.  Her paternal grandfather was Reginald II de St. Valery. She had a brother and two sisters, named Thomas de, Laure de and Laurette de.  She was the second oldest of the four children.  She died at the age of 55 in 1210 in Corfe, Windsor, England.  She was buried in By starvation, walled up in Corfe Castle ordered by King John.

‌Maude de and William III 5th Baron de were married in a religious ceremony in 1169.  They had two sons and two daughters, named William IV The Younger de, Reginald Baron de, Margaret de and Leuca de.
