Albreda de was born about 1080 in Halton, Cheshire, England. Albreda de's father was William I FitzNeel , of Halton,Constable Cheshire and her mother was Miss de Widness. Her paternal grandfather was Neel (Nigel) Constable of Chester; her maternal grandfather was Yarfrid Baron of Widness. She had a brother and two sisters, named William II, Agnes and Matilda. Rosie Bevan does not indicate who Albreda's father is. He could certainly be William I FitzNeel, whose daughter married Eustace FitzJohn, who was brother of Albreda's son's (Roger de Valogne's) wife Agnes FitzJohn. This relationship was hinted at by John Ravilious in a follow up post to SGM. I am making that tentative connection based on the hint.
