ROGER DE SCALES II, son and heir, occurs as a party to proceedings for land in Cotes, Leicester 1194-95; in Herst (Hartest), Suffolk, 1203; as a knight, Norfolk 1203; as holding a fee in Benstead, Essex, 1203; as deft. in a plea of toll, Norfolk, 1204; vouched to warrant the title of the prioress of Blackborough to the church of Sandon, Essex, 1205; querent in a suit for damage to and detention of cattle, Norfolk, 1214.
