William was born about 1304.  William's father was Richard Robert SHERBORNE and his mother was Alice De BLACKBOURNE.  His paternal grandfather was John De SHYRBURNE; his maternal grandparents were John De BLACKBURN and Margaret HOLLAND. He had two brothers and a sister, named Robert, John and Catherine.  He was the second youngest of the four children.
