John was born about 1308.  John's father was Richard Robert SHERBORNE and his mother was Alice De BLACKBOURNE.  His paternal grandfather was John De SHYRBURNE; his maternal grandparents were John De BLACKBURN and Margaret HOLLAND. He had two brothers and a sister, named Robert, William and Catherine.  He was the youngest of the four children.
