Nicolas was born on October 18th, 1719 in Vale, Guernsey, Channel Islands.  Nicolas' father was Jean SEBIRE and his mother was Collette FERBRACHE.  His paternal grandparents were Jean SEBIRE and Anne COUZIN; his maternal grandparents were Nicolas FERBRACHE and Martha PASTOUREL(?). He had four brothers and four sisters, named Jean, Jonathon, Daniel, Pierre, Anne, Collette, Marthe and Judith.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.
