Joan de Ros 
Joan de was born about 1158 in Helmsley Castle, North Ride Yorkshire, England. Joan de's father was Robert de Ros , Lord of Holderness, Sir and her mother was Sybil de Valognes. She had a brother named Everard de. She was the younger of the two children.General Notes
He [Stephen de Meinill] married Joan de Ros (l). He was apparently dead by 1188. [Complete Peerage VIII:621, (transcribed by Dave Utzinger)]
(l) This seems clear from the case of 1203, where Walter de Ros is described as uncle of Robert de Meinill (the Third); Walter's grant to Kirkham Priory being confirmed by his brother Piers, and by Robert de Ros, the chief lord.
Note: According to several internet sources Robert & Sibyl had sons named Walter & Piers (who was Archdeacon of Carlisle), in addition to the heir, Everard.
