Robert II was born in Normandy, France. Robert II's father was KING William I The Conqueror Duke of Normandy and his mother was Matilda Countess Of Flanders , Queen Of England. His paternal grandparents were Robert I "the Magnificent ," Duke of Normandy and Harlette de Falaise; his maternal grandparents were Baudouin V "Pious" Count of Flanders and Adela (Alix) Capet Princess Of FRANCE , Cts de Contenance. He had five brothers and eleven sisters, named Robert II Duke Of Normandy Prince Of, Robert III, Richard of, William II, Henry I, Cecilia Of Holy, Margaret Princess Of, Constance Princess Of, Princess Adela Alice of, Adela Alice, Gundred Princess Of, Agatha Matilda, Constance, Anna Princess of, Adela and Matilda. He had three half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Robert III Prince, Richard Prince of, William II "Rufus", Cecilia Princess of, Adelidis "Alice" Princess, Adela Alice Princess and Agatha Matilda Princess. In 1096 he pawned Normand to William so he join the crusades of Pope Urban II.
He was captured by his younger brother Henry in 1106 and held until he died.
