Nest verch was born in 1073 in Deheubarth, Wales. Nest verch's father was Rhys ap Tewdwr , King of Deheubarth and her mother was Gwladus verch Rhiwallon. Her paternal grandfather was Tewdwr "Mawr-The Great" ap Cadell , King S. Wales; her maternal grandfather was Rhiwallon ap Cynfyn , Prince of Powys. She had a brother and a sister, named Gruffudd ap and Margred verch. She was the second oldest of the three children. She had two half-brothers named Hywel ap and Llewelyn Ddiriaid ap.General Notes

(e) In 1106, when Owen ap Cadugan carried her off, two of her sons and a daughter by Gerald de Windsor were taken with her, the sons being returned later to their father. By Stephen, constable of Cardigan (query after Gerald's death), Nest bore a son, Robert FitzStephen, and by Henry I a son Henry (killed 1158), father of Meiler FitzHenry, which Robert and Meiler were later brothers-in-arms of the Geraldines in Ireland.
‌Nest verch and Henry I "Beauclerc" King of were married in a religious ceremony about 1090 in No Marriage. They had two sons and a daughter, named Robert de, Henry and Maud of.
