Aserida was born in 0812 in Maer, Norway.  Aserida's father was Ragnvald Olafsson , Of Agder and her mother was Thora Sigurdsdottir.  Her maternal grandfather was Sigurd II "Snake-in-Eye" Ragnarson , Danish King.  She was an only child.

They had three sons and a daughter, named Rognvald I, Malahule, Sigurd I and Schwanhilde.
