Malahule's father was Eystein Ivarson , Earl Of Hendemarken and his mother was Aserida Ragnvaldsdottir.  His paternal grandparents were Ivar Of The Uplands , Earl Of The Uplands and Eysteinsdottir Of Thondheim; his maternal grandparents were Ragnvald Olafsson , Of Agder and Thora Sigurdsdottir. He had two brothers and a sister, named Rognvald I, Sigurd I and Schwanhilde.
