John was born in 1331 in Rednesse, Yorkshire, Eng.  John's father was Geoffrey Pigot and his mother was Johanna De Hawkswell.  His paternal grandparents were Randolf Pigot and Emma De Clotheram; his maternal grandparents were Thomas De Hawkswell and Mrs. Thomas 1278 Hawkswell. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Randolph, William, Alicia and Elizabeth.  He was the second youngest of the five children.
