Thomas de was born before 1199 in Ogle, Castle Ward, Northumberland, England. Thomas de's father was Richard de Ogle , Sir. His paternal grandparents were Gilbert de Ogle , Sir Knight and Agnes. He was an only child. He died before 1272 in Whalton, Castle Ward, Northumberland, England.General Notes
Thomas de Ogle, whose relationship to the last-named Gilbert [de Ogle] has not been ascertained, appears to have succeeded him at Ogle. In 1220 he was sued by Roger de Ogle and in 1222, as guardian of the land and heir of Hugh de Oggel, was defendant at the suit of the abovenamed Agnes "Dogel". In 1240, at the instance of his overlord John FitzRobert, he had respite for the taking up of knighthood till Jan following, and was certainly a knight in 1249. In 1242-43 he was holding Ogle and a moiety of Burradon of the barony of Whalton. He was living in Sep 1363 and presumably dead in or before 1272. [Complete Peerage, X:22-23]
