Roger de was born before May 3rd, 1287 in Netherwood, Thornbury, Herefordshire, England.  Roger de's father was Edmund 1st Baron de Mortimer , 7th Lord Wigmore and his mother was Margaret de Fiennes.  His paternal grandparents were Roger de Mortimer , 6th Lord of Wigmore and Maud de Braose; his maternal grandparents were William II de Fiennes , Lord of Wendover and Blanche de Brienne , Lady of Loupeland. He had a brother and two sisters, named John de, Maud de and Joan de.  He was the second oldest of the four children. He had a half-sister named Isolde (Iseude) de.  He died on November 29th, 1330 in Elms, Tyburn, Warwickshire, England (hanged by Edward III).
