Elizabeth Isabel de was born in 1040 in Montlhery, Essonne, Ile-de-France, France.  Elizabeth Isabel de's father was Guy I Seigneur de Montlhery and her mother was Hodierne de Gometz , Dame de la Ferte.  Her paternal grandparents were Milon de Monteleherico , Seigneur de la Ferte and Miss de Montlhery; her maternal grandfather was Guillaume de Gometz. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Milon I Seigneur de, Guy II de, Melisende de and Adele de.  She was the third oldest of the five children.
