William De was born about 1126 in Of, Great Waltham, Essex, England.  William De's father was Geoffrey De Mandeville and his mother was [Countess Of Ess Rose (Rohese) De Vere [Countess Of Ess. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Ernulf De, Robert De, Geoffrey De, Maud De and Alice De.  He was the second oldest of the six children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Simon II De and Beatrice De.  He died in England.
