William "The Protector" Of Pembroke was born in 1146 and his baptism took place on May 12th, 1146.  William "The Protector" Of Pembroke's father was John "The Marshall" FITZGILBERT MARSHALL and his mother was Sibilla of Salisbury D'EVEREAUS.  His paternal grandparents were Gilbert "The Marshall" FITZROBERT and DE VENUZ; his maternal grandparents were Sheriff/ Walter Of Wiltshire FITZEDWARD DE EVEREUX and Sibyl DE CHAWORTH. He had a brother and a sister, named John and Margaret FitzGilbert.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 73 on May 14th, 1219 in Caversham Manor.  He was buried in May 1219 in Round Chapel of Knights Temple, London, Middlesex, England.

‌William "The Protector" Of Pembroke and Isabel FitzGilbert Countess Strigoil were married in a religious ceremony in August 1189 in Tower of London.  They had five sons and seven daughters, named Anselm, Gilbert, Richard, Walter, William "The Younger", Maud Matilda, Isabel, Joan, Eva, Sybil Of Derby, Johanna and Sybil.
