Walter was born in 1198 in Of, Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales. Walter's father was William MARSHALL 4th Earl of PEMBROKE and his mother was Isabel de CLARE COUNTESS OF PEMBROOK. He had four brothers and six sisters, named William, Richard, Gilbert, Anselm, Margaret, Maud, Joan, Isabel, Sibyl and Eve. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 47 on November 24th, 1245 in Goodrich Castle, London, Middlesex, England. He was buried in Tintern, Abbey, England.-
