Alice de was born about 1224 in Lusignan, Vienne, Poitou, France.  Alice de's father was Hugh X de Lusignan , Count Angouleme\La Marche and her mother was Isabella Taillefer de Angouleme.  Her paternal grandparents were Hugh IX de Lusignan , Comte de la Marche and Mathilde (Mahaut) Taillefer de Angouleme; her maternal grandparents were Aymer (Adhemar) Taillefer de Angouleme and Alice de Courtenay. She had two brothers named Hugh XI de and William de. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Henry III Plantagenet King of, Richard, Joan and Eleanor.

‌Alice de and John de were married in a religious ceremony in August 1247 in Woodstock, Kent, England.  They had a son and two daughters, named William de, Eleanor de and Isabel de.
