Richard de was born about 1170 in Copeland, Cumberland, England.  Richard de's father was Reynold de Lucy , of Copeland & Egremont and his mother was Amabel FitzWilliam , Heiress of Copeland.  His paternal grandparents were William de Lucy , Sir and Cecily; his maternal grandparents were William FitzDuncan , Earl of Moray and Alice de Rumilly , Heiress of Copeland. He had a sister named Cecily de.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died in 1213 in Egremont, Cumberland, England.  He was buried in St Bees Priory, Cumberland, England.

‌Richard de and Ada de were married in a religious ceremony after 1200.  They had a son and two daughters, named Richard de, Amabel de and Alice de.
